The University of KwaZulu-Natal is the major university on South Africa’s eastern seaboard, situated on 5 campuses in both Durban and Pietermaritzburg. The Faculty of Law was the first law faculty in South Africa to introduce a course on Alternative Dispute Resolution for law students. It has for several years also offered a course at LLM level. The faculty benefits from having a number of practicing mediators and arbitrators on its staff.
The Faculty of Law, recognizing the importance of a culture of mediation in South Africa, has an affiliated relationship with AIM. The reciprocal relationship offers research, training and facilities.
